My Summer Trip To NYC
Hi, so I’m back. I’m finally back to writing posts again. My last one was about my anime inspired look but this time I’m back to write about something different, New York! I’ve been to New York a lot of times before this and have been wanting to write a post about it for a while but am finally just now getting around to it. This trip to New York has been hectic to say the least but it was fun.
My mom and I went to see her favorite band/group Hillsong United perform. We went the day of the performance and took a train ride. We got a hotel near where they were performing thank God, but even still we still had to walk a lot because... it’s New York. I used to kind of used to all the walking but I haven’t been in like a year and it was honestly exhausting. If you want to take a trip to New York City keep in mind you have to walk a lot and if you go in the summer it will be hot and more difficult to walk the long distances. It is great exercise though. I had also been traveling and taking a lot of trips before which were fun but honestly a little tiring so by the time we got there I was already a little stressed out but it ended up being a great trip! Before we went to the concert we walked to our hotel- which was a…TRIP.
We couldn’t find out where we were going. We were on the complete wrong side of the city even though we were using maps lol- we found out we got there and completely missed the sign. But we finally got there. I got some great photos from out my hotel room window. So we went out to go find food. There are a lot of vegan restaurants in NY. We only had to walk a few blocks to get food, thank God lol I was tired.we walked the streets to go get some food.
The first place we went to was By Chloe. I hadn’t been before and honestly was scared. I hadn’t eaten that much and was starving so and was a little afraid to try it out of fear it wouldn’t taste good and I would still be hungry but honestly it was amazing. Some of the best vegan “fast food” I’ve ever had. The burger was great and the fried were too. I really liked there beet ketchup I didn’t even realize it was tomato ketchup until my mom told me. I also really like the other sauce(the orange one) I just don’t know the name of it lol but its good. My mom got a smoothie and I got some pink lemonade which was also very good, it kind of taste like grapefruit juice but like sweeter. (By Chloe Food)
We then went back to the hotel room and got some much needed rest like I said I had been exhausted from all the stuff I’ve been doing so far this summer. So we got some rest and just hung out. The bed at the hotel was so comfortable I almost fell asleep…twice lol :). I decided to listen to music to keep me awake and I listened to “in my bed” by Sabrina carpenter while lying in my bed lol- I had to do it lol :).
So afterwards we did go to the concert which was a Hillsong United concert, they were playing at Madison Square Garden. I also got some pics of square garden because I take too many photos lol(but like fr I do). The concert started at like seven thirty which isn’t too bad but it ended pretty late it was fun though. The thing is we were so tired while resting that we forgot to check the time and realized we had to go even though I wanted to rest more- we did kind of have to rush but we made it on time.
The concert was great to see my mom having so much, Hillsong is her favorite group so I knew she’d enjoy it. She wanted me to get some videos of it and by the time the concert ended let’s just say I had more than some photos and videos of it. If only that counted as a filmmaking credit for my documentary class lol I would’ve definitely done better, but anyway after that it was late so we just home-or well to the hotel.
We got more burgers to go from By Chloe and ate those but it was late so we just went to sleep. We had one more day in the city so we decided to go to find places to eat and eating we did- lol :). We went to Terri’s, Chloe’s and Starbucks.
The day before I had been stressed out walking in the streets because there’s always traffic and a lot of people, it was a week day so it was a lot better but still a lot of people. The next day was surely more stressful because we were there the whole day and it was really hot outside.
We first went to Terri’s for breakfast we were originally gonna go somewhere else but they weren’t open. I had been to Terri’s the last time(before this) I went to New York. There food is really good. I got a beyond meat burger and a cupcake, even though we planned to get donuts we didn’t end up getting any so that was my desert of the day. Terri’s (NOT Terry’s) (My beyond meat burger/wrap) (My burger and potato salad) (The chocolate vanilla swirl cupcake) (Terri) We also went to Chloe’s Fruit. It wasn’t too bad a walk and it was great in the store. The store was so cold so it was great break from walking out in the heat.
My mom and I got some ice cream I got banana and she got mango soft serve. Chloe’s Fruit It was hard for me to choose but I got banana soft serve ice cream with blackberries, kiwi, strawberries and raspberries. It was so good honestly the best ice cream I’ve had. We walked around for like an hour and half and it was difficult walking all those blocks in the heat but we decided to go into Starbucks to pass some time before taking the train back home.
I got my normal drink, the violet drink and my mom got a guava tea- I wish I would’ve got her drink it was so refreshing but they made my drink well too. Starbucks is another great place to go in New York because there’s a Starbucks on every block some have two and once I went to NY and saw three Starbucks on block, it was heaven Lol.
It was pretty hectic in the train station but after a while of waiting we finally boarded our train and went home. As stressful as some of the trip was and as exhausting and crazy as it was walking the streets of NY in the summer. It was fun and I definitely would do it again.
Thanks for reading this travel journal. I’ve been wanting to make one especially one about New York for a while and might have to make another... until next time... Peace out guys! -CreativeKennedy
